the writer’s den

September 27th, 2007

the Guardian (UK) has posted a story about writers that i found fascinating. the page has a list of links to about 30 different authors, and each author’s page has a picture of their work area and a narrative description from that author. some of the desks are very standard–chair, computer, some books–what you’d expect from a modern writer. others are far more unique, and there are even authors who have rejected current technology and are still using notebooks and a pen. (i’m partial to this approach myself at times. it’s far more portable and rugged. and there’s really only one notebook for it.)

while i prefer some of the writing spaces that incorporate light and focus on simplicity, i identify best with this room. post-its and maps… i love them both.
